A. Self-Study Preparation

UPRT: AUPRTA REV3 (Upset Prevention and Recovery Training)
Candidates begin with independent study to build foundational understanding of upset recovery techniques

B. Theoretical Knowledge Instruction

This phase delivers critical aircraft systems knowledge through a blend of self-study (CBT) and instructor-led sessions.

  • CBT (Computer-Based Training) on Aircraft Systems: 40:00 hrs
  • Instructor-led briefings systems revision and training on systems, performance, W&B, EFB, FCOMs, FMGC, Airbus SOPs & Philosophy, and UPRT
  • Systems and performance exams with debriefings
  • Airbus SOPs & Philosophy: 2:00 hrs
  • OTD (Other Training Device): 9 sessions x 4 hrs = 36:00 hrs ℹ️ Optional MCC (Multi-Crew Cooperation) Training adds an extra 4 days and 25:00 hrs, increasing total training to 120:00 hrs

C. Handling Phase

This stage introduces hands-on simulator training to develop handling skills.

  • FFS (Full Flight Simulator) Sessions: 7 x 4 hrs = 28:00 hrs
  • Instructor briefings and debriefings: 16:00 hrs
    ℹ️ Optional MCC component: +3 days, 6:00 hrs briefings, 12:00 hrs FFS sessions

D. LOFT (Line-Oriented Flight Training)

Focuses on scenario-based training simulating real airline operations.

  • FFS Session: 1 x 4 hrs
  • Briefing & Debriefing: 2:00 hrs

E. Skill Test Phase

The final evaluation phase to assess overall proficiency.

  • FFS Session: 1 x 4 hrs
  • Briefing & Debriefing: 2:00 hrs

Total FFS (Phases C+D+E): 36:00 hrs (this can be emphasized somehow, and separated from Phase E, as is the total of 3 phases)

F. Optional Base Training (If Applicable)

The final evaluation phase to assess overall proficiency.

Hands-on training in a real aircraft environment:

  • Aircraft Walkaround: 15 minutes
  • Aircraft Flight: 1:00 hr (6 takeoff’s and 6 landings)

F2. Optional ZFTT (Zero Flight Time Training – if applicable)

For candidates transitioning directly into line operations without aircraft base training.
