Airbus Flight Test Engineer Lectures at Avora Academy and TU Sofia

On 17th of April 2026, Avora Aviation Academy and the Technical University of Sofia were privileged to co-host Mr. Nunzio Nicola Caccavo — Lead Flight Test Engineer and President of the Society of Flight Test Engineers European Chapter (SFTE) — for a lecture titled "Flight Testing in Modern Aerospace Industry: The Airbus Approach.

"Mr. Nunzio Nicola Caccavo offered students, faculty, and invited industry guests a first-hand perspective on one of the most demanding disciplines in commercial aviation — the engineering rigor, procedural discipline, and human judgment that stand behind every certified aircraft in service today. Drawing on his experience at Airbus, he illustrated how modern flight test programmes balance data, design intent, and safety to bring new aircraft and systems from concept to the line.

For Avora Aviation Academy, launching this year as the training arm of the Avora Group, the event reflects the kind of institution we are building: rooted in EASA standards, connected to the global aerospace community, and committed to exposing Bulgarian aviation students to the engineers, operators, and leaders shaping the industry's future.Our sincere thanks to Mr. Nunzio Nicola Caccavo for his time and insight, and a special thank you to Professor Vladimir Serbezov and the entire Technical University of Sofia team for hosting the event on the University's premises and for their deep engagement with students throughout the session.
